Do you know of some excellent personality tests?
Those worth the five or ten minutes of your life you'll never get back? What are your favorite ones?
I'm a sucker for that whole MBTI thing.
Below are the ones I've found for them:
personalitypathways.com/type_inventory.html [personalitypathways.com/type_inventory.html]
discoveryourpersonality.com/MBTI.html [discoveryourpersonality.com/MBTI.html]
teamtechnology.co.uk/myersbriggs.html [teamtechnology.co.uk/myersbriggs.html]

If you already know your personality type...
socionics.com/prof/prof.htm [socionics.com/prof/prof.htm]
the16types.info/typesview.php [the16types.info/typesview.php]
typelogic.com/entp [typelogic.com/entp] (has all the types listed at the top of the page)
homeopathy.healthspace.eu/types/ENTP.php [homeopathy.healthspace.eu/types/ENTP.php] (it has the links for all the types on this page)

I'll be honest. My friend with a degree in psychology poo-poo's these tests. He puts them up there with astrology in the sense they all tell you something good about yourself and are generalizations. True?

your friend is likely describing the forer effect:

Ah, you are correct. That would be it: the forer effect. Well, he does have a point, then. I guess personality tests would be like anything else: use common sense and take with a grain of salt.
Unfortunately people are easily fooled because they want to be. I used to do tarot card readings for my friends for fun. For fun. That was it. Because I knew that I was probably pulling in stuff I knew about them already, about human nature in general, ect. In other words, I knew why the tarot readings were decent and that was why they were just for fun.
Not my friends. After awhile they started to believe I really did have some special power. I tried to explain but they 'wanted' to believe. So I stopped. They could delude themselvese but I didn't want to be part of it.
Oh! Thanks for the links, too! ;-)

Cool! Thanks frylockpwns. These two sites will be fun to go through and check out their tests. I see an afternoon spent in front of the laptop coming up.... ;-)
